On September 10th, we cut a ribbon. It was the first one in Xtego's seventeen-year history.
That might sound odd for a company that's been around since 2009, but for most of those years there wasn't much to cut a ribbon in front of. I ran Xtego part-time for well over a decade, and it was just me, working from wherever I happened to be. Ribbon cuttings were something other businesses did. The ones with a sign on the door.
When we moved into our new office at 330 Pine Street this summer, that changed. There's a team now. Nathan and James are here every day, and there's a door with our name on it. Standing in the new space for the first time, it was pretty clear that if we were ever going to stop and mark a moment, this was the one.
Two ribbons, one hallway
We didn't do it alone. Our business partners across the hall, Ignite Business Services, moved into their new space at the same time, so we did the sensible thing and threw one party instead of two.
Sharing the day with Ignite felt right. You don't always get to pick your neighbors. We got lucky with ours.

To everyone who came out: thank you. The Williamsport/Lycoming Chamber of Commerce, State Representative Jamie Flick, our clients, our friends, our staff, and our families. A lot of you were with us long before there was an office to visit, and seeing you all in one room meant more than I managed to say on the day.
I said in my last post that I don't talk about this company much in public. That's still mostly true. But a first ribbon cutting after seventeen years felt like it deserved an exception.
